‘Making Waves’ offers an in-depth exploration of the 5Rhythms, how the rhythms show up in your body, your life and the world around you. Practicing the 5Rhythms brings us home to ourselves, unifying our body, heart, mind andspirit. From there we can explore our way of being - with ourselves, in our dynamics with others and within the wider energetic field of the group.
In this ongoing group we will be paying careful attention to our physical movement vocabulary within each of the rhythms:
flowing - finding our feet in the endlessness of earth energy
staccato - percussive hips defining the shape of our hearts expression
chaos - releasing into our spines, surrendering to unpredictability
lyrical - trusting our curiosity, expanding into whims from toes to fingertips
stillness - centreing within, breathing with emptiness and the unknown

What to bring: water to drink and wear comfortable clothes to move in. Dance barefoot or in soft-soled shoes.

Getting there: Greenwich British rail, and DLR station are only 2 minutes walk.
The 177 bus passes the building, and the 180, 199 and 386 all stop close by.
Parking is limited in the area. Nearest pay and display is on Norman road.

We use the main hall in Greenwich West Community Centre, it has a lovely wooden floor, high ceiling and lots of large windows. This together with the close proximity to Greenwich DLR station and being so near Greenwich park and market, it's a great venue.
This class is wheelchair accessible.

Greenwich Rhythms has been at Greenwich West Community Centre for about nine years. It was started by Peter Wilberforce who taught the class for seven years. Then it was run by a group of dancers from the Greenwich 5Rhythms community, in May 2010 the group asked Sarah Davies to take on the regular running and teaching of the group.

All are invited to join us for lunch at the Fountain Food Court after the dance.

Contact: If you have questions about Greenwich Rhythms, or you would like to be added to our email list please contact Sarah heart@sarahdavies.org or 07968 388 674.
